Leia playing dressup as well as help make brownies for her daddy. I sent these out a week before his birthday and he just received these yesterday.I told him he should pitch them for fear of food poisoning,but he ate them anyway. Another dressup picture. She could play dressup all day long for a week straight. She loves it.
This is the lamp that I got at Airman's Attic. I went specifically for a lamp and found this beautiful one.I can't believe people just give these away. I'm so thankful. You never know what you'll find there. The tablecloth is also from there.I really love it. Last night I had the neighbors over for dinner and Jens husband Abram said that his mom had the same one and it reminded him of her home. I was serving enchiladas and Mexican rice with a salad.Jen had helped me make them.It's a new favorite.

I can't wait for this mess to get out of my house. Yesterday Jen and I went through all these boxes and itemized them so that TMO could come pick them up march 5 or the 8th to put them in storage for us.Luckily most of them are empty But I've been dreading going through the others. I knew it would be a huge mess and I didn't disappoint myself. I was glad Jen helped me.

Man what a wonderful day. It started out by going to the gym and then going through all those boxes. After going and doing the paperwork for TMO and Housing and getting Leia from school Jen ,Ethan( her son 2yrs old) and Leia and myself went for a nice long walk to the park and the kids had a fun time playing. On the way back I mentioned that I was going to make Taco's for dinner and I questioned her on how to make enchiladas because I had all the stuff to make those as well. She said she'd come over and help me,Well we made so much I invited her family and Fanny's family over for dinner. We had a great time and the food was wonderful. I just hope I remember how to make them again.Then the husbands went next door to Jens house to put together a desk and to play video games and us girls watched a movie while the kids had a blast in Leia's room. It was a great Friday night. We even got to chat with Chris. I just wish that he could have been here. He is doing well. Not much going on in his world. I keep asking him for pictures so when he sends me some I'll post them. That reminds me I have a picture of his hotel. It will be on top.I wish I could drag them. Oh well just forgive me.

This is a picture of Chris's room. At his hotel they only have a washing machine so he has to lay his clothes on the floor to dry because the heat comes from the floor vent. He says it takes a day and they're dry.

Chris has clippers that are made for our 110 volts and over there it's like 220. ( or something like that) Anyway when he plugged in his clippers he said they were going super fast but he cut his hair anyway. Hence why he is now bald. He said he butchered up his hair and had to shave it completely down. Good thing his hair grows fast.HA HA HA.

Not much going on. I hit the gym again today. I've lost 5 lbs. I am so excited.I did a lot of phone calls today and running around trying to get the finance stuff corrected from the military. Luckily that will be resolved in about 10 days so YIPPEE. Things are good. love to all.

seeing the silver lining

Hi,

Not much new going on around here. I'm still going to the gym almost daily and looking for jobs. Those seem to be my big things for the day. I also did some yard work today,pulled a bunch of weeds in the front,raked,laid down mulch and planted my blueberry bushes in the tubs that I've been meaning to do.I went down to the self help here on base and had to dig my own dirt out of a pile as big as a mobil home.That was fun>HA!!! It's been a good day though. It's 61 outside. Later Leia and I are going on a walk.Maybe even hit one of the parks. Leia has a friend coming over and of course this weekend they want to do a sleep over. I told them it has to be at my house if we do it. Anyway,it's kind of boring around here nothing new and exciting to report. We're finally getting some of the financial things worked out that they owe us. We got some of it today 1/3 of what they owe us,but it's a start. Unfortunately since it's a new bank account they're holding it until the 2nd of March. My other money from Indiana has been on hold for a week and it will still be on hold until the 2nd of March as well. Good thing I don't need to buy anything. So after the 2nd well be alright. Well Leia's friend and mom are here. I love you all.

AHHHH what a day. My neighbor and I worked out again for over an hour again. Feeling it tonight. Taking a break this weekend.Sunday is Chris's Birthday. He's having a special birthday dinner at the chow hall. Normally they have stake and I swear one time he said lobster. Eat well honey.My neighbor invited me to go to town with her to do some shopping. It was really nice. We hit a few of her favorite stores.We pretty much hung out most of the day. I had to go to the commissary to get some groceries and decided to give meatloaf another try. This time I'm following Mamaw's recipe. It is wonderfully filling up my house with the aroma of a yummy home cooked meal .Potato's on top and all.I was able to chat with Chris again on the web cam.I absolutely love it. He is doing well. He's not in sheetmetal maintenance this time.He's back in the Corrosion shop. That's where they paint the airplanes. Hopefully he has better respirators this time. Tomorrow Leia and I have a birthday party we're going to. It's a different neighbor named Jennifer that lives across form me. I've only sen her a few times and we gave her a bunch of Leia's baby clothes and toys when we first got here.It's hard to remember Leia at one and what she needed, so after shopping at the BX and coming up shorthanded I decided on some very nice sippy cups. I figure she'll be getting off the bottle or all ready is and you can never have enough of those things.Right!!!

We were able to get the web cam up and running today.It was great to see and talk to Chris. This is a picture of his hotel room. Notice no door to the bathroom just a curtain LOL. He did say it had a Jacuzzi tub and a bidet He enjoys the tub. The bidet he refuses to use he says it has 9 different settings and he's rather scared of it.He's glad they have an American toilet in there as well.

Well, I've started to go to the gym. My neighbor and I are going together right now. So far we've been the last 2 days.I know big whoop,but we just started.She introduced me to a web sight called livestrong.com and it charts your food and calorie intake.As well as your exercise and all kinds of things to help you loose weight.go check it out. It's cool.

Today Chris and I for the first time were able to video chat. I love it. We talked total today for almost 1 1/2 hours. Leia loves it too.She liked to goof off in front of the camera.

Not much else going on . I've looked for more jobs and there's none out there.I am enjoying my time though.Focusing on the gym and for myself for once.

Well Sorry no post for a few days. I've been busy. Mainly looking for a job during the day,and I'm getting to know the neighbors better. Last night we were invited over for a spaghetti dinner. I had already made meatloaf so I brought it, some Soupa Tascona, and a bottle of wine. Fanny and her husband brought over cheese bread,salad,and cookies. Jennifer made the fixings for the spaghetti dinner.It was a feast.Everyone loved what I brought over which I think is funny because it was the worst meatloaf ever. At first I wasn't even going to bring it because it was so bland and not fit to eat. Jennifer's husband begged for me to bring it over anyway.So I did holding my breath,waiting for them to say yuck!!! They all said it was the best meatloaf ever. I secretly was like It was disgusting and I was going to pitch it.Anyway we had a good time lots of laughs. While over there Jennifer started talking about wanting to go to the gym. I had been planning on going but right now I just can't seem to get in the mood.Anyway long story short we are working out together. We hit the gym for an hour today and plan on doing it as much as we can. Today I feel pretty good. Tomorrow I might hardly be able to get out of bed.But that's another day.We even did arm weights for a few minutes and lets just say I'm a wimp. My arms are killing me.

Chris is doing fine. Yesterday was the first time in 2 weeks that I got to hear his voice. He is hanging in there.Not much new with him.We IM (where you e-mail talk live to one another) at least twice a day. He's 14 hours ahead of us so it's like we're ships passing in the wind. I normally have to rush Leia off to school or he is rushing off to work when were trying to IM each other. But we manage and we're both holding strong.It will be another month until he gets to live on base. Which that just SUCKS. But that's another story.It was so sweet he stayed on base 4 extra hours waiting for a good time to call so he wouldn't wake us up too early. Leia said Hi and that she loved him and then feel asleep in the chair.It was priceless. I only got to talk to him for about 7 minuets. They put a 5 minuet restriction on their calls,but since nobody was standing in line we stretched it out a little bit longer until someone else had to use the phone. It was just so nice to hear his voice again...........Anyway my novel is getting long. I better get going. I love you all.

Look what the dog found. I was on the phone and I heard Leia panickly screaming. The scream that you know that something really bad has happened. Well she was screaming so loud and fast that I couldn't understand her. Finally I got out of her that Shark Bait had a snake in his mouth and that it was moving. So I go out there and I thought that it was dead. I went to get the shovel to remove it and it started to slowly slither away. I helped him along. I picked him up in the shovel (wishing that I had grabbed the one with the longer handle) and put him over the fence.There are some trees back there so maybe he can find a home over there instead of our yard. If he returns I'm sure Shark Bait will finish him off . I think he's a harmless snake, It looks kind of like a normal garden snake. It was very passive and was just trying to get away.I don't like the fact that it was just a few steps from the door. GOOD BOY Shark Bait.

snow update

Ruger enjoys the snow so much. It's hard to get him to come inside. I have to beg and plea and then I finally get the dog biscuits out to bribe him inside. I don't know why I try. 30 minutes later he barks his head off until I put him back outside. I just worry about him being outside for so long. I do have to remember he does have his fur coat on though. This is what he does outside. sniffs it and rolls around like crazy in it. Shark Bait doesn't want anything to do with it. He barley gets off the porch to pee and back in he comes.



I promise not to scrape my car off with a shovel again. HA HA HA!!!

I went outside this morning and measured the snow and we have 4 inches. I don't think it's going to hang around long though. It's already melting from the roof and the sidewalks and road are clearing up all on their own. I tried to get Leia out in it this morning and she just wants to lounge in PJ's. It's perfect snow to make a snowman in. She's just not up for it.O-well He'd be melted by tomorrow anyway. Love to all.

I just went outside and measured we have right at 3 inches of snow and it's still coming down. I'll post pictures tomorrow good night.

Well Chris's birthday is coming up so we're going to make him a package. We are making his favorite chocolate chip cookies and brownies. This is our attempt of cookies. Leia enjoying helping making them. Not sure quite what happened. They are flat as a pancake. I guess when they show up in Korea all as crumbs I can say it was from the rough ride over. HA HA HA!!! So the rest of the batter I put into a pan and made one big cookie. Yeah no picture of it. I burned it . Well honey if you read this I still have the brownies to make :)
I think I wasn't suppose to put the butter in the microwave. It said to use soft butter. Mine wasn't totally melted just a little bit. Oh well. These where my attempt at homemade. Now he can have the brownies out of a box. Those never fail right???

So maybe I can blame the flat cookies on the temperature outside. It started snowing while we were cooking. I ran outside to cover my new plants.

The snow is coming down pretty hard now.I say we at least have 2 inches. You can't see a blade of grass and all the cars are covered.I'd get a picture of it but it's too dark outside.

This is Texas style

I just heard on the radio that we were to get snow ,so I looked it up on the Internet and we are to get up to 1 inch this morning and 4-6 inches by tonight. According to the radio it's going to snow all weekend as well and they were joking that it came at a good time because we have Monday off because of Presidents Day.I guess a lot of southern places like Florida,Georgia, Louisiana, and Lower Texas are getting snow as well.I can't believe it.We'll be trying to stay warm.
