Again these are out of order
A bath to get rid of our messy little girl an hour later Poof she is squeaky clean...
This is the set of curtains that I got at the Airman's Attic. Even though they are black they still let in a lot of light. But they help.

The other set of curtains that I got at the Airman's Attic.I don't call it a flaw that they're about a foot too short. They are perfect for a sneak up attack by my little attack dog.HA HA HA!!! He likes to be able to peak out of them.
This is where one of the messes happen. One of the best messes to be in. Eating an ice cream cookie.

Yikes!!!

This is where the other mess happened. We replanted our seeds. This is a picture of a bean that has started to sprout. cool HUH

This is what they're planted in now. I will have a few mystery plants pop up though. Leia got ahead of me and some of the seeds were so small I couldn't figure out what was in them. O well. It'll be fun.

Airman's attic

I discovered the airman's attic today. It is where people donate things that they don't need any longer and if your E-5 or below you can go there. So I went to only donate things and decided to look around. I found 2 sets of curtains that I'm now using. One in the kitchen over the large sliding glass door and the other set in our bedroom. They are in great shape. They look like new.

The ones in the kitchen are just about a foot to short, but it will give me enough privacy anyway. The best part is they were free. So I can live with it being a tad short. They have very funny hours. So I just got lucky getting in today.

Not much is going on. I went and bought Leia some bigger paper pots to put her seedlings in. Some of them have started sprouting. Leia will be excited to see them today.Unfortunately her cantaloupes aren't doing anything ,neither is the lettuce. I do think I have them in too small of a container hence the bigger pots. The beans are taking off like wildfire.
I have to go get Leia from school.
Talk with you all later.

Chris is doing well,me I'm hanging in there.

This is a picture of him flying over the ocean. He was near the North Pole

Chris bless him E-mails me often. Not long letters, but that's OK. just hey I'm doing OK type thing. Here's what I know. He is living in a hotel. There are several GI's there as well ,so he's not alone. He has meet a few of them and is taking them under his wing.Young newbies that's never been on a remote. He went to work yesterday for the first time. He said he likes his shop and that they all seem cool. He knows 2 of the people there. They were there when he was there last time. Ironic I think because it's been 10 years. One of the guys must be there for a long time because Chris says he has a house and has invited him over for dinner.Things are straightening themselves out. We've had some major ditches to cross, but in a paycheck or so we should be getting reimbursed on our out of pocket money that we shouldn't have had to spend. His Government card is finally working so that helps and hopefully housing in Florida gets turned around and we get that money back.I dealt with the bank and insurance literally all day. From about 9-2. It was crazy stupid. My power of attorney wasn't enough for me to do certain things, so I had to jump through a lot of hoops, but finally was able to cut through the red tape and got things done. Hopefully Fanny is going to come by today. She seems to understand the hardtimes I'm going through. Her husband is fixing to go Iraq as well as my other neighbor, I'm grateful Chris is in Korea.Anyway I better get off of here. I still have a few box's to go through.

Love to all.

planting

Leia and I had a busy day. We went to the BX to get some dirt so we could plant some seeds. We have them starting in the house. For my Valentine gift Chris bought me 2 blackberry bushes and 2 blueberry bushes. I am so excited to have them. They beat a bouquet of roses any day.I went ahead and planted the blackberry bushes and I'm waiting to fill up some moving totes to put my blueberry bushes in. When we move they're going with us. With the blackberry's I can just get a nice cane off of them and restart it. With the blueberry's being in totes We can just load them into the back of the truck.Leia and I went to 2 different parks and took a nice walk around one of the ponds.Later we walked again and she scootered all around the neighborhood. She ended up biffing a few houses down and hurt both of her hands. So after we were cleaned up I had her help me make Brownies. Next thing I know Shark Bait is barking his head off( I am so scared the neighbors are going to hate us for his loud barking), Anyway the neighbor that we share the house with was outside so I ran in and got my shoes on and chit-chatted with her for a while then I remembered the brownies were still cooking and probably burning up in the oven. I excused my self , invited her to come on over, saved the brownies and had a good time chatting with her and her family. Then other neighbors showed up.Fanny, One across the street and a few more where I still don't know where they live. I had a yard full of neighbors. I told Leia we should bake brownies more often. We shared them. Jennifer the neighbor that we share the house with brought over some taco's and rice which were fabulous. I later went over to her house to return her plate and we talked again. She loves reading so I thought I'd share a few of my favorite books with her.2 of the neighbors that I met both of their husbands are fixing to leave for Iraq. Another couple just moved in and they are from Texas as well as Jennifer that we share the house with. Fanny is from Germany. Everyone seems really nice here.I am starting to like it here.

I don't know why I didn't get pictures of us planting the blackberry's , playing with the dogs,or planting our seeds, but here are some pictures of our work. Oops accidental deleted a picture.

The two in the planters are the blueberry bushes. I am going to plant them in totes in a few days. The one planted to the bottom left is one of my blackberry bushes.

These are the seeds that we planted. We have lettuce, peppers, cantaloupe, strawberry, and greenbean seeds growing. I hope some of them come up. Leia had a good time getting her hands dirty. In the bigger container are strawberry seeds that were already started for us. In about 8 days I hope to show you pictures of little stems shooting up.For Leia's sake I hope so.

dang dog

OK you all know Shark Baits history of being bitten by a shark and rescued by Chris. Well I have a case of the Pen might be mightier than the sward, eeeerrrr uummmm I mean shark teeth.
Leia was watching some TV and shark bait was giving himself a licking to be nice and Leia said a pen lid was next to his foot .She said he licked it ,it stuck to his tongue and you guessed it he swallowed it. I don't know if I should cry or laugh my @$$ off. He's still breathing so no obstruction, I'm just worried about it passing though his system .The end is kind of poky. Dang Dog. I gave him a whole hamburger bun to maybe get around it and help it pass. He seems to be acting just fine. I guess I need to dog proof the house. He is like having a baby around the house.

HE made it to his base

To get my last blog You'll have to click on the side bar. I don't know why it's all jumbled up. I tried to fix it and can't. Sorry.I was hoping if I added a picture it would save this one from being jumbled up too. Laura your going to have to tell me how you do cool things on your blog. I only know the simpler things.

I got another E-mail from Chris. He made it to his base. There was some kind of mix up and they don't have him a room so he has to stay downtown in a hotel. Not sure if I like that at all. I feel that he would be safer on base.Anyway that's all I know.

It's so cold and rainy here.I took Shark Bait to Leia's school to pick her up and he was shivering so bad I thought he was convulsing. So I found a small blanket that I keep in the car and covered him up. I tried to get him out so Leia could see him but he just poked his head out and gave me this look like are you nuts, I'm not coming out. So to warm us up when we got home I made some hot chocolate. I wish I had some marshmallows hanging around the cabinet though.OH well it hit the spot.
I'll keep you all posted.

I just got an E-mail from Chris. He arrived at the Korean Airport around 6 this morning. He has a long bus ride ahead of him to get him to his base. I don't know anything else about his trip. Just that he's safely there.
I got a call from unemployment here in South Carolina that they found a job in Manning SC at an orthopedic clinic. They are looking for X-ray/ CT tech so that's a little bit exciting if its more day shift then second. Manning is like 35-40 minuets away so just maybe.........I'm holding my breath.
I've been unpacking a little bit more. It's slow going mainly because I can't find space for things. Once I sift though all these boxes and get out of them what I want, I'm going to call the storage unit here on base and have them store it. It's free, but I won't be able to get into it until we move. So I want to make sure what's in those box's first.
I miss you all so much.
Stay warm. I heard these a bad snow storm out there. We're just getting rain.
Love to you all.

Chris left for Korea today. Leia walking him to the gate.
We had to goof off just to act normal.

This was Leia's idea. very cute. Our hands make 1 heart.

Since Leia was a toddler we've been using the I LOVE YOU SIGN in sign lanuage.

They let us go to the gate to say goodbye to Chris since they knew our situation. I thought it was very nice of them.

Many kisses goodbye.

We will miss him very much.

Yesterday Chris took us to this wounderful nursery that is 5 minutes from our house. He has a wounderful selection of plants and at great prices.I am now a proud owner of 2 blackberry bushes and two blueberry trees. And they are huge. at least 10 times bigger then the ones at Lows and for the same price. The blueberry trees already have small berrys on them and the owner said we will be enjoying blueberrys by July. I am so so so excited about that.I want to plant them in x-lg totes(which we have aboundant amount of ) that way when we move out of here in 2 yrs I can take them with me.
At the nursery they have a petting farm. There are many goats,a few cows, llams, horses, chickens, turkeys, ducks, and 2 baby deer that he rescued. It was wounderful. I will be coming here with Leia often.

This is their treehouse

I know I need to get pictures of the area around here. I just alwasy forget my camera. We went to Charelston over the weekend and these are a few of the pictures.
The aquarium even had a few outdoor exhibits.

THE SHARK TANK. I'D HATE TO USE THAT POTTY.

Jellyfish at the aquarium. Their main tank.

They had a lot of fountains as you walked in. Great photo op. Too bad the sun was in our eyes.

This is a super cool bridge near by. Chris even took us on it even though it was out of our way.

We ate at a FATZ CAFE. The name fits. I hate to know how many

calories we polished off.

a one sided building and still standing.

Just some really cool pictures of buildings down in Charleston.

I love this porch.

This weekend we found our way down to Charleston. It was beautiful. It was like something out of a book. The architect of the buildings were awesome. We took Leia to the aquarium. She had a good time. It was small though, but the exhibits were phenomenal.Chris is fixing to leave this Thursday. I'll keep you posted.
