We went to Wateree Park yesterday just to explore it and to get out of the house. Yesterday was in the high 70's and we had heard great things about this park. It's up in Camden which is less then an hour away. It was a beautiful drive through the country. Lots of Plantation style houses and farmland.
Military can rent cabins for around $75 dollars a night. Some of the bigger ones are $95 . Most of them are right on the water. You can also rent a camp sight for 10 bucks or bring your own RV. Which you can rent here at the base. I think they have a mini pop up camper you can rent for something like $40 a day. It's tiny but worth not sleeping on the ground. They also have boats to rent here.

We walked around and took lots of pictures. We're thinking of plopping a tent down here one weekend. It was so relaxing. We'll have to do it soon before it gets to hot. Yesterday was perfect temp. Saturday nights they play an outdoor movie for the kids and Friday they have a dance and marshmellow roast for the kids.(Big kids can join too)
They also had a playground. Leia enjoyed playing while we got to sit and look at all the spectacular views.
