Leia did really well on her report card. She made 8 straight A's. Plus we got her results of her Achievement test. These were the ones where the teacher forgot to send to us and when I called her about it she said that they were due that day and that she must have missed sending them to us. Leia had already done 7 hours of school and each of these tests were an hour and a half long. So 3 hours total added onto her 7 hour day. Anyway I couldn't be more proud. In her Math she received a 98% and in Reading she received a 99%. I'm waiting to find out how she did on her state test. The teacher said we won't find that out for another month or so,but the kids from Shaw school already found out. SO who knows when we'll get that. Leia said the tests were easy and that she feels like she only missed one or two per test. She said that they were easier then the K-12 tests. I know the K-12 tests are were hard.I didn't know some of the questions myself.
We are enjoying a nice summer break. It's so nice to go to the pool to swim and relax. I did sign Leia up for a reading program through the Library. Leia's teacher said that we should read one of the required reading for next year. They are "The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn" or "The Adventures of Tom Sowyer." She said that a lot of kids don't understand it and find it challenging. I was like no kidding. I didn't read these books until high school. So that is one of our projects this summer along with lots of relaxing down time with a little bit of fun reading and math. I just haven't done it yet. We both need the break. It was a hard school year.
