We get all the way down to where we were going to go trick or treating and I realized that I forgot my camera. The kids were out in groves and I knew it would take me about 30 minutes to get back home and another 30 to get back down and find Chris. So needless to say I have no pictures. And Darn it there were some really cool houses. So with a few protest But I'm hot, I want out of the costume I was able to do a quick few shots of my two big kids in the costumes. Leia is Bumble Bee the transformer and Chris is the skeleton.

Why does the song I Want CANDY keep playing over and over in my head.

October 2011

We went to Willard's Pumpkin Farm for a family day of fun. They had a corn maze in tribute to 9-11

Not only was it a corn maze but it had a game like clue that you had to figure out who did what where. I'll ruin the surprise for you. The pig did it, in the woods, with the corn cannon. Now what he did I don't know. HUMMM!!!

I was glad that Chris has a built in GPS in his brain and has a great since of direction. I'd be walking around in circles.

Ashley and Leia with their pumpkins.

It wasn't much of a pumpkin patch. Probably wasn't a good year for them with all the 100 degree weather that we had. But the kids still had fun.

I love my BIG pumpkin holding a little pumpkin.

We did a short hay ride.

Leia riding the cow wagon

You had to pump as hard as you could to get the duck to slide down.
We had a few races.

Chris and Leia bouncing on one of those big bounce pillows. He's one of the biggest kids that I know.

Leia thinks that it is so cool drinking coke from a bottle.

Weekend in review.

Pictures of this weekend. On Friday we went to the Fall festival here on base. Saturday we had soccer practice and a church function. On Sunday Chris took us up to Columbia for a day out of Sumter. We hit some of our favorite stores as well as this nice park. It belongs to Fort Jackson. Some of the cabins up at Fort Jackson Rec Area. Too bad they don't have any available until mid December.

This is the pretty lake that the cabins were on. I love how you can see the trees reflecting off of the water. It was so peaceful there. Chris and Leia checking out the fish. There was a nice size bass swimming around the dock.

Leia's soccer coaches Tom and Linda along with their daughter Savannah. We've become really great friends with them.

Enrichment club

Yesterday we discovered that Leia's teacher signed her up for the gifted program. They call it the Enrichment Club. I am honored that they signed her up for it, but it's more work for her to do. She went to the first class. She loves it. She was grinning ear to ear. The teacher used 2 of her ideas which had her jumping over the moon. Their class is making fictitious countries and have to tell the history of it, how it was discovered, the government, economy, map, landscape, cities, climate, roadways, oceans, etc...Leia was so excited that she took off with her imagination and drew up 2 countries with lots of the required info on it. She has to present it on power point so last night I had to figure out how to do that. Well Leia's up this morning and I have to get back to getting ready for school.

Oct.

The cool weather is finally here to stay. It's so nice and cool most of the day. By noon it gets into the mid 80's most days. But it sure beats the high 90's and 100's that we had not so long ago. I love having the windows open. Chevy and Ruger love it too. Chevy keeps her head pressed against the screen window taking in the new sounds, smells, and cool breeze from an open window.Ruger swears it's hot in here and begs to be let outside every 10 minuets. Once he's out he doesn't want to come back in. I love watching him sniff the air and rolling around in the grass like he did when he was younger. Once he got carried away and went rolling down the hill. D on the other hand is like, it's to flipping cold outside ,and he shivers. It could be 80 and he shivers. He finds a spot on the carpet where the sun is beating down on it and his body will soak up all the sun rays. It's different here. The leaves aren't changing. I told Chris I feel like driving up to Vermont to see the leaves. It won't happen but a girl can dream can't she. Not much is going on here today. Leia is studying History and we have a soccer practice today at 5. Chris is with a friend out at a gun show. Last night Chris took us out to a nice dinner. After he saw what we go through with school he now feels sorry for us.He has Monday off and it's so not fair that we have to do school. I think I might just do half a day and enjoy some much needed family time.
Chris has 217 days left until he's retired, SO that makes it 7 months and 4 days. I'm getting pretty nervous about the big move and finding jobs for both of us. I know I have to leave first and get a job,I just don't want to make a mistake. I'm almost at a panic of the thought.... Anyway I keep praying about it and feel like when the time is right doors will open up.They just might not be the doors we are looking for though. I know in the end no matter what we will make it through.

soccer pictures

This is our team the Killer Blue Dragons. We haven't won any, but that doesn't matter. The kids are trying their best and they all love it.What is great is that they all have become friends and love hanging out together. Leia needed that desperately.

We had to do a team funny. I love this picture.

We have only 4 games left. And then tournaments, but we'll only probably play one of those games.

Proud Papa

Oh forgot to tell ya. They got a new player on their team. Conner's younger brother joined our team. He is really good and even though he's 7 he's almost as big as Leia. He has a fierce competitive streak in him like his brother, so maybe he can help our team out. We are loosing one of our great players, because of a move and another one can't make it to all the games. That leaves us so shorthanded that we were going to have to forfeit games. But Now that we have Ben with us ,we don't have to do that.
