We haven't gotten anything but gusts of wind and a few sprinkles. We just checked the weather map for us and it's all east of us. I didn't water what was left of the garden b/c I figured it would get drowned with all the rain we were supposed to get. Oh well I'll do it tomorrow.

Leia's 1st soccer practice

Leia at her first practice. Leia is one of the shortest on the team. Though she may be tiny, she sure is mighty. OOH!!! Her nickname should be Mighty Mouse.

The couch really likes Chris and has asked him to be assistant couch.

It was sweet of Leia though. Her friend Joseph is on the other team. The really GOOD team. Leia said she would feel bad taking the ball away from him B/C she's his friend,but she doesn't want to make coach mad either.LOL :)

Her colors are royal blue with navy blue shorts and royal blue socks. They are to come up with a name.Leia wants killer whale and another girl wants dolphins. One of the boys wants killer green zombies.(UMM honey our colors are blue. )

Tuesday

We went to Fort Jackson Water Park. This is Leia's Ugggh moment saying "MOM I WANT TO GET INTO THE WATER NOT TAKE PICTURES!!!" This is the lazy river that you float on tubes. They had 5 water slides and several different kiddie pools and sprinklers.We had a good time. I just wish they had a regular pool in there for adults too. But it's all about the kids being safe and having fun.

Darth Vader.

She is my Princess Leia after all and is with HER FATHER. ha ha ha!!!

(If you don't know Star Wars ,Darth Vader is Luke Skywalkers father.And Princess Leia is Luke's' twin sister.)(( I guess if we were to have a baby boy we'd name him Luke)) That would be weird :) Oh wait they wouldn't be twins. Never mind.

On another note. Leia went sleepwalking last night. I should say running. I was just falling asleep when I heard her running down the hall. I went to investigate and saw her in the living room trying desperately to open the front door. Luckily the deadbolt was set. I tried to wake her up but she was out of it. Finally when she did wake up she was so confused. She didn't know why she was in the living room or why her dad and I had this weired look on our face asking her questions. This morning I asked her if she remembered it and she didn't. I hope she grows out of this soon. It seems to happen a few times a year. I'm scared to be in a house with stairs for fear she'll fall down them.

Try outs for soccer

Today was soccer try outs. Leia did pretty good. She's excited to be playing.We will find out by tomorrow what team she is on. She's one of the youngest on the team. They are 9-13 year olds. Luckily the older ones are kind of new to soccer so I think it will be OK.Originally her team was only 9-10 year olds but they didn't have enough kids sign up so they had to open up the class to 9-13 yr olds.

Welcome to 4th grade

We survived Leia's first day of 4th grade. It started out good and ended good. The middle not so much. Leia ended up taking a 2 hour math test. I thought I was going to go crazy with that. I fear she didn't do well on it. I didn't even know some of the answers. Then we were supposed to be able to log on to have a meeting with her teacher. Well there was a glitch and lots of freaking out on my part because I couldn't get anything to work. I called Chris to see if he could come home and help me .On his Lunch break he tried but he couldn't understand why it wasn't working either. I called support and after being on the phone with him for 30 min we still couldn't get it fixed. He later E-mailed me with another trick that might work so I tried to do it and 15 min later I had it up and running. SHEW!!! So then I had a
2 1/2 hour conference with Leia's teacher. Most of it I knew from last year,but still had to sit through it. So 8 hours of school today. We didn't get it all done. Mainly due to the 2 hour math Scantron test and the 2 1/2 hour meeting. So we will have to work in our missed work sometime this week. UGHHHH.Why did I pick K-12 again you are probably asking? Since it was so hard and stressful last year. Well because it's all I know with homeschooling and the fact that it won't be for all year.Come on and find me a job.
Chris was super sweet. He saw how stressful it was at the house during lunchtime, so he brought home beer and pizza :) Thank you honey. Tomorrow has to be a better day. Please be a better day.

This was such a pretty park. I'd love to come back when it cooler and do it again.

This was before we took the trail. We walked about a mile before we came up on the trail. We originally were only going to walk part of it and come back. But we ended up doing the whole thing.

On another note. School starts Monday so if you don't hear from me we're piled up under books.

job update

Butterflies in my stomach. I have been looking for Radiology jobs for the past hour and I haven't found anything new. I figured out a way to look at some of my applications that I sent in last week. One hasn't been reviewed yet and that's at Grand View Hospital,Radiology Tech job.But the Kettering Hospital CT full time day shift job is reviewing my application.I know it doesn't mean anything,but one could hope.Buterflies. Buterflies... Buterflies!!!

Thursday

I don't have any exciting news about anything. We're just home enjoying the last days of summer vacation.I've taken Leia swimming a few times this week and to the playground.We've been practicing soccer and goofing off. Today we're reviewing math a little with a lot of protest on her end.BUT MOM IT'S SUMMER VACATION!!!! I'm still making her do it.OH I did get her state Pass test from the end of school year finally. She did fantastic.She received 2 exemplary in history and reading. And a very high almost exemplary in Math.On reading she blew them out of the water. I was so proud of her on it.Not much else is going on around here.

The last week of summer before school starts.

My boys watching me go outside to take pictures of the flowers.They were watching every movement I made.I think it is so sweet that they would miss me so much.

In reality they are watching me forming a plan. Lets see what mom is doing and calculate how long she will be gone. Now lets go look for the hidden dog bones and scoop out the cat box before mom comes back.

Yep that's my boys!!!

Not much has been going on. We mainly stayed inside most of the week. It was either too hot or stormy. School starts in one week. I'd like to make the most out of this week. I will be watching a little girl from time to time but when I'm not I have things to do with Leia. I'll take her swimming everyday if she wants. Maybe a movie, Chucky Cheese,or maybe bowling.

On another note,Chris and I ended up pulling half of our garden up. It's been slowly dying from the extreme heat and bugs. We saved a few tomato plants and we have the whole melon garden,one pepper plant left, and some of the green beans. I still have the blueberry trees, blackberry/raspberry bush's,and a few herbs left but that's it. It so weird seeing the yard now. We took up some of the fencing and the one garden is almost completely empty. The second one has been hacked in half. It looks quit sad now. But we did get lots of stuff from them.

Nothing new on the job search. We did find some houses that peaked our interest,but I'm sure they will be sold way before we need them.It's just fun to look at.There's not much on the to do list today. Cleaning,Church,and ???? I guess nothing else. We're pretty boring around here. I hope you all had a great week.

I'm now a soccer mom

I just signed Leia up for soccer. Her first meeting is Aug. 18th. They will have practice twice a week. Sept 19th will be her first game.They play I think until mid October. I'll get more details later. She is so super excited. We went out and bought her cleats and her shin guards. We will have to get her a uniform a little bit later. She can't wait to start playing.
