garden mistakes that are funny

When thinking and planting our garden we didn't think about cross pollination. We now have a mixture of squash and zucchini. Chris is calling it the zuash. I just looked it up online and yes they can cross pollinate if you plant them to close to each other. Your supposed to plant them at least 500 feet apart,OPPS!!! So then on that note, I looked up our melon patch. The watermelon will be fine and not cross pollinate with the honeydew or the cantaloupe. BUT the cantaloupe and the honeydew will elope and produce different and unique offspring. I wish I would have know that. Now the plants are too big to transfer for fear they won't recuperate and die. I did that last year with my squash and zucchini when they were bigger and within a week they were dead. So Bon Appetite.
