Just goofing off this morning arranging how the page looks. It's a rainy gloomy day here. Leia's upset that it's not snowing. Thursday we had 56% chance snow but instead we received rain. I saw something funny on the Internet. It was a billboard in New York from a church that said who ever is praying for snow you can stop now. And Leia said but I was the one praying for the snow here not there. Kids they say the cutest things.

We're getting things ready for Chris to come home and for our trip. Does anyone know a good Internet site where we can check the roads and weather while driving? I have looked all over the Internet for one and can't find one. I find Apps to apply to your phone,but we're old school and have a very simple phone.Yes my friends laugh when they see the dinosaur that I carry around. I don't use the phone like they do. In fact if someone needs to get ahold of me best chances are to call the house phone. That's just how we roll. It drives my friends nuts. Especially when I'm not home and they can't reach me. I do have my phone with me for emergencies, but not for everyday chat and instant messages. Half the time I don't even have it on.Kelly for your sake I'm trying really hard to remember to turn it on when I leave the house. Even to go to Jens. Anyway don't know why I'm rambling on about the cell phone. It's just that boring around here I guess.

I can be a critic movie reviewer. We watched Knight and Day. Don't bother renting it. It was a really dumb movie. The special effects were awful and all that kept happening was people getting shot up. So if I could save you a rental fee, save it on this one. It's lame.

Not much else is happening around here.We're taking a break doing homeschool today. We've been working every weekend on school and it's becoming too much for us. We do have enough days while on vacation and if we don't then we'll make it up another time.(If we don't leave on the exact days,or finish up the week taking our time getting home)

Hope the sun is shining in your neck of the woods and that the snow and ice is over. I want it gone for our road trip. Wishful thinking on my part. And for Leia's sake a light dusting of snow enough to make a few snowballs and catch them on her tongue. Maybe sled down Mamaw's hill, but nothing more then an inch.

bad hair day

I found these wild color roses from a florist. I thought it went appropriate with my bad hair day blog. I gave all of the animals a bath. I love taking their pictures afterwords.

I was able to get Ruger into the bathtub.,It was too cold to give him a bath outside.I don't think my tub will forgive me. The water looks like river water.

Not to mention the hairy drain. I had a hair guard on it but it didn't catch it all. The drain is dreadfully slow so I will be calling the maintenance man out again to unclog it. Sorry maintenance man. It really was way too cold to give him a bath outside and see we're going on this road trip and he needed a bath. Yeah right lady it's really your hair it's OK We all go bald:) Especially if you keep coloring your hair.

I colored my hair yesterday. In the sunlight it looks more brown. In the house under normal lighting it looks a fake black.

Spouse dinner

We went to the spouse dinner tonight. It was a Korean theme dinner. It was fantastic. Leia tried out her chopsticks and was very successful at it. She tried everything on her plate. She didn't like any of it so she opted for the pizza and brownie instead. BUT she tried it. This is my plate. A little bagoigi,kimshe,their version of an eggroll,rice noodles and bean sprouts in a vinegar sauce.It was pretty good. I didn't care for the bean sprouts or the kimshe,but I tried it :)
Look she got a noodle first try. Little stinker. I had a hard enough time with a spork. If you haven't seen one of those it's a combo of a spoon and a fork . They are really harder then the chopsticks. I think it was a joke from them on us, saying that's why we use chopsticks. LOL.

I ran into some of my friends. Wendy who is always a blast to talk to and Janine one of the homeschool people from our group. I just started talking to her last Friday and learned that her husband is also in Korea. He gets home in a few days though. So we chit chatted for a long time too. What a wonderful night I had.

I moved my cabinet back out. It was stored in the storage pantry. I now have tons of room in there . I couldn't have it out when doing daycare because it has crackled paint and they thought that a kid could chip it off and eat it. So I am so excited that this is now back in where it belongs. This is all that is left of the daycare stuff.As you can see not much left. I'll be watching a few kids until Chris comes home but it's only for like an hour or so twice a week. Just some spare cash for our trip.

I was really bored the other day and moved furniture around. It started with wanting to move 1 large thing,the treadmill. It was cramping up our bedroom and I didn't like using it in there because the neighbors can hear it running.Yes the walls are that thin. YOU can hear everything.YIKES!!!! So it is now in where the kitchen table used to be. So when you move one thing you have to move lots of other things to make everything look better. In here not much was moved.Just the little bench and the little table. And rehung the pictures of the lighthouses and sailboats back up. I moved this room all around to accommodate the treadmill and hung one of Chris pictures up in here. It looks better in here.

Treadmill moved from my bedroom to in here. I can now see the computer which means put a movie in it and walk away those pesky million pounds that I have.

Welcome Home Posters

I just took down the pictures sorry if you missed them. I didn't want Chris to see them yet.

Leia and I made these last night. We are so proud of them. They even have stars on them that light up. I'm only showing these briefly because I want them to be a surprise to him. I know that he's at work. I just got off of Skype with him so I know he's leaving. So here are the pictures of our artwork.

Tonight we are going to our last spouse dinner. They are having a Korean dinner planned. I'm excited to try it.I've only had it one other time and that was in Florida.I'm hoping they have Babogie. Something like that. Chris raves about it all the time. I'll take pictures tonight and blog about it later. It's exciting that this is our last one. Can you believe he will be home in 18 days. I keep pinching myself. It's like a dream. This past year is almost over. I started tearing up at Michales when buying the stuff for his poster. The time has flow by and I am so excited that it's almost over.

Today was Jens Birthday .We ate dinner at her house and went bowling afterwords. We had a great time.I came in from dead last to winning 2nd place. I couldn't believe it.I think they were just feeling sorry for me because I keep getting gutter balls. So then they decided to play bad. She's growing up so fast.

Leia was a big helper to the little ones.She helped them roll the ball down the lane. She even bowled for me with no bumpers and she made a strike and a spare for me.

I'm learning how to take pictures at night.

I got a day bed for free from the base thrift shop and a free mattress from Wendy.So now I have extra room for people to sleep over. Ruger saying HI.

On a great school note. Leia made all A's this time on her report card. YEAH!!!

New bird feeder

I got a bird feeder from one of my friends here. I haven't had one in over 10 years. I was so happy to get one I immediately put it up. I spread bird seed all over the ground and made a path from the fence up.Only because that's where they hang out. It took them most of the day to find it but once they did they haven't left. Yeah.

I had my eye on this Cardinal and he was working so hard banging his beak into the frozen ground down by the fence. I was like can't they see it from down there. He must be giving himself a concussion from hitting that ice so hard. We watched and we waited and then around dinner time I looked out and saw that same cardinal had come to his senses and was near my tree by the house. I watched for a good 10 minuets as he ate the birdseed that was on the ground. Then out of nowhere I saw this lightbulb go off in his head (Literally) and he flew to the bird feeder. He was the first to land and eat from it . I was so excited to witness it.

Later I had to pull the blind down so we could get some schoolwork done.I love that my table now has a view.It's just a tad distracting though. But definitely worth it.

When he was nice and full he flew into my tree. so I could take this fantastic picture.

What a Day

I made a pot of chili and cornbread for lunch and we at the cake that Lorie brought for me.

We built a snowman in Jens yard.

We didn't have any sleds so we improvised. First we taped up some box's but that didn't work,then we tried cookie sheets and again that didn't work,So we grabbed the kid mattress that I was going to throw away tomorrow in the trash and it worked nicely. They slid fast down the hill. Notice Leia is holding on to the tag for dear life. I guess she thought that would help her.

We have done about 4 hours of school work and need to do about 3 more. I sent her into the bedroom to read and I came back to check on her I found her asleep. I guess after a hard day playing in the snow wears a kid out. We need to finish a few more things to make it a complete day,but for now she can rest.

I better go move my car. I've witnessed it almost get hit twice now in the last 30 minutes while writing this. A snow plow went by scrapping the snow and I have a feeling there's an ice patch near my car. I've heard 2 horrible screeching of the breaks and I quick look out the window as the 2 cars almost hit my car.

One being Fanny. That one might have been on purpose. HA!!!

I was reviewing my post and a cop car now almost slid into my car. They don't know how to drive on snowy roads.

glorious day

What a glorious day. When at church today they surprised us with a retreat in March. A free hotel ocean view room and free meals for the 3 day get-away retreat. I couldn't believe my ears.

Then on top of that my friend Lorie from Church surprised me with gifts,cake, and ice cream for my Birthday.I'm speechless.Leia is making me a birthday card at the moment and I'm cooking Mamaws' meatloaf. I needed something homeyish.(New made up word) I invited Jen and her family over for dinner and a movie. Today is such a great day. I also learned that Leia doesn't have school tomorrow. YEAH!!! (we're still going to do a days work anyway so it will count for when Chris is here) But the thought of an extra day for us. So now we'll have 10 days free of school while on vacation. I will start doing an extra day on weekends to try to get a few more in. But it's really hard to do it when we both need a good break. I hope you all have a blessed day.

New Changes

I saved my favorite Geranium out of certain death of Rocco the neighbors dog. He has a thing for my plants. I was neglecting this beauty. she needed watered so bad that when Rocco was carrying around the pot she just fell out. So I saw all of this through the window shewed him away and tried to save what was left of my plant. It was a nub. I wish I would have taken a picture of it but figured it was going to die.Well within a few weeks she started growing like crazy and now blooming.It feels like spring in the air. Speaking of spring in the air. I majorly spring cleaned. I've moved some furniture around

I Cleaned Leia's room. This is the nightly line up of dolls that she snuggles with.

I threw out 3 XL trash bags of her stuff and toys that she hasn't play with in years. I had to make room for the new ones. Anyway while driving all the stuff to the Airman's Attic to donate , she said that she was sad because it wasn't her fault that she didn't play with all of these toys. It's just that her bed wasn't big enough to have them all on her bed at night.

Chevy saying I'm not a toy don't throw mew out. Her room is so clean. I had to take a picture to preserve the memory of it.
I'm moving in my furniture that I had moved into odd places so I could do Daycare. Since I am quitting I'm bringing it all back out. My house is starting to look like a house again instead of a daycare.

This room feels so empty now without the table and chairs.You can hear an echo if you talk loud. Really you can. It's funny.

Well as you can see I still have daycare stuff up in the kid room. I was originally going to still watch the boys because there is this rule that you can watch kids for 10 hours without having to do the FCC stuff. So I thought that would be the way to go. It's the paper work that is driving me more crazy then the kids. Anyway Yesterday when I was talking to someone with the FCC I found out that I could only have the boys for 5 hours. SO not to get Chris in trouble I told the dad I would stay open until he finds another daycare provider. I have been very sad about it. Worried about what he would think and the money, even though I was loosing money with it. But here is the kicker..... READY.

He was looking for another daycare provider(his friend) who will do it for cheaper then what I was.I was already doing it cheaper then anyone here on base.So I was going to loose him anyway. So long story short in a few days it will be my last day with them and I will have all of this gone and really looking like a dinning room.
