Garden in June

Chris showing off our tall blackberry bush. These are cantaloupe that I planted from seed. Not just any seed though. We had bought a cantaloupe at the commissary and it was so delicious. Leia wanted me to save the seeds. So I washed them and let them dry for several weeks. I then planted 10 or so in this spot thinking it wouldn't work. Now I have three of them coming up.I am so excited that it actually worked.

Chris showing how tall the tomato plants are. D saying it's too hot to be outside. It's in the high 90's everyday and so stinking humid.

Ruger says try having a fur coat on. Also look how tall my beans are.

The real reason why our garden is doing well. Chris is so good about watering it almost everyday. I have to give him the majority of the credit to our garden.

These are the first 2 zucchini that we picked from our garden. They got huge overnight. I baked them. I coated them with a small amt of oil, salt, pepper, and garlic salt. Then when tender I sprinkled a little but parmesan cheese on them and broiled them. They were yummy.

Our Broccoli is starting to come in. One of our many watermelons.

My petunias girls going wild.

My canna's starting to bloom.

My watermelon climbing the netting. I am quickly realizing we didn't give the tiny plants enough room. We'll probably redo the fence. Everyday it looks more crowded.

Zucchini that's rapidly growing. Summer squash is on a roll

This is one of our cherry tomato plants. I can't wait for them to turn red.

Our blackberry bush full of berries. We so far have picked a qt worth and have them in the freezer.

We found a bird nest and 5 little eggs in one of my plant pots. The momma keeps a close eye on her babies when she's away.
